It is the process of calculating the quantities and the cost of various items of work for successful completion of project.
Purposes of Estimation:
1) To know approximate cost of proposed work.
2)To know the quantities of various materials to be required for the project.
3) To know the number of labours of various category skilled, semi-skilled, unskilled to be employed for execution.
4) To know tool/equipments to be needed to carryout work.
5) To seek administrative approval and technical sanction from the concerned department.
6) To invite tendors from eligible contractors.
